The Art of War 

(2006) 

is an audio visual remix project commission by onedotzero festival for an live event in Singapore in June 2006. The Light Surgeons were invited to remix the new album by local musicians the Tang Quartet.

Jude Greenaway, AKA Scanone took the audio challenge on by creating a new Appleton Live set fusing the Tang’s classical sounds with his own distinctive brand of UK dub step. This became the dark and broken sound track to an audio visual wreckage by TLS’ director Chris Allen.

The resulting show collides images of the worlds stock exchanges with a rain classic cinematic audio visual fragments, exploring the distorted history of war on screen and its connections with consumption, thus making comment on how Sun Tzu’s famous book has become a new bible for business strategy and our capitalist society.

The Art of Projectionism (2007) by Frederick Baker (in German) sets out the principles behind his use of projectors in the film making process. He defines a projectionist school of filmmaking and media art. In this publication he also presented Ambient film, a surround experience that can be shown in specially developed cinemas. (Wikipedia)

‘vE-”jA: Art + Technology of Live Audio-Video (2006) by Xarene Eskander is a global snapshot of an exploding genre of tech-art performance: VJing and live audio-video. Coldcut: Natural Rhythm (1997) by Hexstatic is the second part of the Natural Rhythms Trilogy, Stuart Warren-Hill's first experiment in video sampling, the first piece being Frog Jam and the third being the critically acclaimed A/V single Timber, which won the MCM Atlas [French national TV] Award for Best Video Editing (1998). formula (2000), a constantly evolving work updated with each presentation, is a perfect synchronization between Ryoji Ikeda's sound frequencies and the movements on the screen.
